Account Manager

Job Description

Location: United States (Remote-friendly, but must be based in the US with ability to travel 30-40%)

Position Overview

The National Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing our business with key retail accounts in the US, including Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, as well as CVS, Walgreens, Meijer, and other assigned national accounts. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that owns the P&L for these accounts and reports directly to the Head of Sales/VP Sales.

Key Responsibilities

1. Serve as the primary point of contact for buyers and category managers at Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, CVS, Walgreens, Meijer, and other assigned national retail accounts

2. Develop and execute joint business plans (JBPs) with each retailer to drive category growth and achieve annual revenue, distribution, shelving, and profitability targets
\n
3. Present and sell in new items, seasonal programs, promotions, and displays, and negotiate trade terms, promotional calendars, everyday pricing, trade spend, and deductions
\n
4. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with buyers and cross-functional teams (replenishment, merchandising, e-commerce, supply chain), and own forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management collaboration

5. Analyze Nielsen/IRI and other market data sources as well as retailer data portals such as Retail Link and Luminate to identify opportunities, track performance, and develop fact-based selling stories

6. Collaborate with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure flawless execution of retail initiatives, attend line/category reviews, vendor summits, and trade shows, and consistently achieve or exceed sales quotas, distribution goals, and profitability metrics

Qualifications & Requirements

1. 3+ years of CPG sales experience calling on US mass/club retailers (Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco) or retail chains such as CVS, Walgreens, Meijer (current or very recent buyer relationships strongly preferred)

2. Direct experience in baby/infant, juvenile, toys, or consumables categories highly preferred ; alternatively, retail channel sales experience with CVS, Walgreens, Meijer or similar chains, plus a proven track record of growing existing accounts and securing new distribution in competitive categories
\n
3. Proficiency with Nielsen/IRI, Retail Link, Luminate, and retailer supplier portals; exceptional presentation, negotiation, and analytical skills; a self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment

4. Bachelor's degree required; must be legally authorized to work in the United States; ability to travel 30-40%
