Gainesville was recently ranked as one of the top 10 places to live in the United States.The Senior Vice President of Accounting leads the accounting function for a large multifamily portfolio of approximately 12,000 units. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, financial analysis and manages the month-end close, and supervises a team of accountants. If you are ready to advance your career, love learning and applying new technology and want to join a fast growing and family-oriented company, you'll want to read on.Perks – The Good Stuff:The Collier Companies 401k match is 100% of your contribution up to 10% of your gross income.Up to 24 days off during your first year with annual increase!Stylish TCC logo attire provided.Comprehensive medical, dental & vision insurance.Group & supplemental life insurance policy options.Healthcare reimbursement account & legal services insurance.Career growth opportunities.QualificationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Financial Reporting, Analysis & CloseLead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processPrepare executive summaries and dashboards that communicate portfolio performance, liquidity, financial risks, trends and recommended actionsReview and approve community-level financial statements, gpr and variance reportsAnalyze individual assets and portfolio performance creating financial forecasts using key metricsEnsure timely delivery of owner/partner packagesOversee bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and consolidationsSolid knowledge of business models and principlesAccounting OperationsOversee accounts payable, global cash management, and security deposit accountingReview and approve journal entries and complex adjustmentsSupport community-level cash management, distribution and funding requestsCompliance, Audit & SystemsDemonstrate a strong understanding of how accounting systems work and actively identify opportunities to improve processes through automation and AI tools or beneficial 3rd party productsEnsure GAAP and owner-specific reporting compliance, effective internal controls proceduresCoordinate external and owner auditsServe as a subject-matter expert for the Entrata accounting systemFamiliarity with partnership tax returns (Form 1065), K-1s, and capital account trackingCollaboration & ProjectsPartner with Community Managers, Regional Managers, and Asset Managers to improve ROI for InvestorsAssist with accounting and due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings and development projectsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA (or actively pursuing)5–8+ years of progressive accounting experiencePrior supervisory experienceStrong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skillsSolid understanding of how accounting systems function, with experience applying AI tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reportingExperience with Property Management ERP Systems such as EntrataSkillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environmentClear communication and a process-improvement mindsetSystems-oriented thinker who looks for ways to leverage technology and AIAptitude and desire for continuous growth and life-long learningStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsOur Culture – How We're Different: The Collier Companies is a fast-growing company that fosters a professional attitude and a strong team spirit.
