Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $80,000 - $115,000 (commensurate with experience). Origination Fee: 25% bonus on self-originated cases. Performance Bonus: Discretionary year-end bonus starting at 5% of fees generated above 3x base salary (typical annual bonus payouts range from $20,000 to $100,000+). Work Arrangement: Flexible Remote or Hybrid options available for candidates based in or near North Carolina. Job Details The firm is seeking a driven Plaintiff Pre-Litigation Associate Attorney to manage a dedicated personal injury caseload. Working directly under the Partner, this role focuses primarily on pre-litigation advocacy, demand drafting, settlement negotiation, and high-touch client communication. Key Responsibilities Pre-Litigation Management: Manage the full lifecycle of plaintiff personal injury files (95% PI, with light Workers' Compensation exposure) from intake through resolution. Negotiation & Advocacy: Evaluate case merit, calculate damages, review medical records, draft demand letters, and negotiate directly with insurance adjusters. Client Relations: Maintain compassionate, transparent communication with clients, delivering high-level service throughout their recovery process. Team Collaboration: Work closely with a team of 7 experienced paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient file movement. Litigation Support: Provide occasional assistance on litigation matters when needed (depositions, motions, court appearances, or trial prep are a plus). Candidate Qualifications Education & Bar: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar. Experience: 2-5 years of plaintiff-side personal injury pre-litigation experience (candidates up to 10 years will be considered). Track Record: Demonstrated stability in past employment (a history of long-term tenure is required; job-hopping will not be considered). Languages: Spanish language fluency is highly preferred.
