About the Position

Job Title: RN PCU (Pulmonary/GI) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown setting License: Active RN License required; Pending license accepted under specific conditions Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration including cardiac drips. Description: The role requires providing nursing care in a pulmonary and gastrointestinal patient care unit. The nurse will manage a patient load of up to 5 patients per shift. Candidates must have experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response protocols. The ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias is essential. Administrative tasks include IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration. The position also requires respiratory support and use of rapid response and code teams. Staffing may include working without CNA support. The unit serves adult and geriatric populations with a daily census of approximately 27 patients. Candidates should be prepared to float within their skillset as necessary. The hospital is a teaching facility with a focus on achieving patient care excellence. All candidates must be fully vaccinated as per health regulations.
