About the Position

Job Title: RN Neuro PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in cardiac monitoring and emergency response - IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care - Medication administration and management of cardiac drips (no titration) - Respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management) - Familiarity with rapid response and isolation precautions Description: This position requires the RN to work in a Neuro Progressive Care Unit. The RN will provide care for adult patients with neurological conditions. Patient population includes those undergoing neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, and neuro-specific diagnoses. The unit features dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring. Ratios are typically 1:4 to 1:5. All requests for time off must be submitted in advance. Travelers may be required to float to other units within their clinical skill set. A holiday shift is required over the contract duration, along with weekend shifts every other week or a total of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block. Experience with EPIC charting system is required. Travelers must be comfortable with the required patient ratios and responsibilities. The position involves interdisciplinary support from various medical teams. All candidates must hold active certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
