The Collections Specialist plays a key role in supporting accounts receivable activities and maintaining healthy customer account balances. In this position, you contact customers about past-due accounts, document all collection activities, respond to account inquiries, and deliver professional, customer-focused service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Contact customers via phone and email regarding past-due accounts and outstanding balances.
• Encourage timely payment while supporting organizational goals related to accounts receivable and collections.
• Document all collection activities, account notes, and payment commitments accurately within company systems.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer account inquiries and correspondence.
• Participate in a departmental call group, answering incoming calls and providing courteous, professional customer service.
• Communicate regularly with internal departments regarding customer account status, payment activity, and any issues requiring follow-up.
• Monitor account information and payment updates to ensure records remain current and accurate.
• Perform additional administrative and accounting support tasks as assigned to assist the broader team.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience. No collections experience required
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience handling customer account inquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner.
• Strong attention to detail when documenting account activity and payment commitments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate multiple systems efficiently.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally by phone, email, and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment.

Work Environment

This is an office-based position in a standard professional environment, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You will frequently use computers and business software throughout the workday and work in a collaborative team setting with regular interaction across multiple departments.

This is a Contract position based out of Neenah, WI.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Neenah,WI.
