Peer Workshop Facilitator

Compensation and Benefits Hourly Rate: $28/hr DOE Full-time; non-exempt Up to 16 paid BACR holidays Employee assistance program, medical, dental, vision, wellness program, life insurance, flexible spending account, transit and parking flexible spending accounts for commuting expenses, 403b plan depending on hours worked Location San Francisco, CA Position Overview The Workshop Facilitator position is designed to lead BACR’s Undocumented Youth Programming by providing peer-based engagement, youth support, light administrative assistance, and program coordination. The role strengthens youth leadership development while increasing staff capacity to deliver consistent, high-quality services. Facilitators will help deliver BACR’s Entrepreneurship and Workshop Services for transition aged youth ages 15-24. Responsibilities include assisting with program promotion, supporting workshop facilitation, preparing materials, and developing the skills needed to guide peers through job‑readiness and entrepreneurship topics. Facilitators will improve upon their existing hands‑on experience with professional tools, collaborative team environments, and community outreach activities. They are an integral part of the Workshop & Entrepreneurship Team and will receive regular supervision, skills training, and leadership development to support their growth and success in the role. Duties Support the planning and delivery of job readiness, life skills, and entrepreneurship workshops Help prepare workshop materials (slides, handouts, setup) Attend and co‑facilitate youth workshops guiding youth staff Create intentional curriculum based on program deliverables and needs Participate in workshop debrief sessions to help assess participant needs, understand group dynamics, and continuously improve workshop services Learn and help maintain curriculum folders and drive organization Assist with community outreach, social media promotion, and event support Represent CHALK and BACR with professionalism and care Attend training sessions, weekly check‑ins, and team meetings Participate in leadership development and skill‑building opportunities Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Must be 18+ Fluent in Spanish is necessary as we run mono‑lingual (Spanish only) cohorts Ability to work full‑time (Mon‑Fri and periodic Saturdays once a quarter) Successful completion of Live Scan/fingerprinting (upon hire) Interest in youth development and community empowerment Experience participating in BACR programs and/or external leadership opportunities Willingness to learn and take initiative Ability to collaborate on a team and communicate clearly Strong sense of responsibility and time management Basic familiarity with Google Suite (or willingness to learn) Afternoons, evenings, and one day during the weekend availability Reliable and clear schedule Desired Qualifications High level of personal accountability for the quality and impact of work Ability to provide a consistent, professional, and positive adult relationship to the participants we serve Ability to assess crisis situations and initiate action independently and without direction Familiarity working with undocumented transitional aged youth and adults in the Bay Area Familiar with the criminal justice system and its impact on marginalized communities Ability to empathize with colleagues and individuals from a racial, ethnic, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic, academic and cultural diversity backgrounds Equal Opportunity Employer BACR is an equal opportunity employer.
