Role Description The Undergraduate Research Assistant role is a full-time hybrid position based in Kansas City, MO, with flexibility for some work from home. The Research Assistant will support faculty or project leaders by conducting literature reviews, gathering and organizing data, and assisting with the design and implementation of research protocols. Daily tasks may include preparing materials for experiments, maintaining accurate records, and helping with data entry, cleaning, and preliminary analysis. The role also involves contributing to reports or presentations, communicating findings to the research team, and participating in regular meetings. The Assistant is expected to collaborate effectively, follow established research guidelines, and uphold ethical and safety standards in all research activities. Qualifications Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify patterns. Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication for reports and presentations. Demonstrated research skills, such as literature review, data gathering, and documentation. Basic laboratory skills and familiarity with standard lab procedures and safety practices (if applicable to the project). Experience or coursework in data analysis, using tools such as Excel, statistical software, or programming languages. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, preferably in a STEM or related field. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
