Project Manager - Construction/Real Estate Development

Acting as the owner’s representative, you will oversee contractors, coordinate across internal teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with Company standards. The Team The Project Management team is responsible for coordinating and executing projects across planning, design, and construction, with a strong emphasis on construction delivery and field execution. In this role, you will partner closely with Development team, Construction leadership, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in alignment with overall project goals. Skills Strong understanding of construction processes and execution Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, and engineering plans Financial acumen in budgeting and cost tracking Strong project management and organizational skills Clear written and verbal communication Project planning, scheduling, and coordination Budgeting, cost control, and financial tracking, quality delivery Contract and change order management Stakeholder coordination and communication Technical problem‑solving and risk management Characteristics High ownership, accountability, and initiative Detail‑oriented with strong technical awareness and big‑picture thinking Team‑oriented with a desire to win collectively Proactive and solutions‑driven Ability to perform under tight timelines and changing conditions How You’ll Spend Your Time Here Lead construction activities execution across assigned projects Serve as the Company’s on‑site representative, overseeing general contractors and subcontractors Monitor contractor performance, schedules, and milestones to ensure alignment with project goals Coordinate construction sequencing to support overall project timelines Review plans for constructability, compliance, and Company standards Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field issues Support budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking, including pay applications Lead construction meetings, field walks, and coordination sessions with contractors, engineers, and internal teams Coordinate with municipalities, inspectors, and agencies for permits, inspections, and approvals Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards Provide clear project updates and reporting to internal stakeholders Support project closeout, including inspections, turnover, and documentation Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field 3+ years of experience in construction or project management, preferably across commercial or mixed‑use projects Experience managing contractors and coordinating with consultants and municipalities Proficiency with construction scheduling and project management tools (e.g., MS Project or similar) Strong understanding of construction processes, permitting, and project controls Willingness to be onsite regularly and travel to project locations as needed Why Join Bourn Companies At Bourn, you won’t just manage projects—you’ll help deliver the construction that brings our developments to life.
