Critical Care Physician Assistant

Provide expert clinical care for critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients Develop and implement treatment plans with the ICU team Manage ventilators, vasoactive medications, and advanced ICU therapies Perform bedside procedures as credentialed Participate in daily rounds and multidisciplinary care planning Educate patients, families, and clinical team members Collaborate with ICU physicians, APPs, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary team members Continuously monitor patient progress in a high-acuity environment Rotate through the Medical ICU, Procedure Service, and Pulmonary Consult Service Requirements 3 years working as an Advanced Practice Provider preferred ICU/Critical Care or Hospital Medicine experience preferred Proficiency preferred in invasive ICU procedures, including Central Venous Catheter and Arterial Catheter placement, Hemodialysis Catheter Placement, Ventilator Management, Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Lumbar Puncture, Chest Tube placement, and Endotracheal Intubation Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively BS in Physician Assistant required PA-C certification through NCCPA RPA registration through the New York State Office of Professions Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in providing clinical care for critically ill patients, including proficiency in invasive ICU procedures and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
