The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA.Travel Required25-50%Experience Required 5+ YearsAccountabilitiesManage Telecoms work package with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables for senior managementAssign and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all subordinates are actively working toward established milestonesHold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projectsDetermine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiativesResearch and evaluate hardware and software technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysisOversee installation Update and maintain all production technologies ensuring proper maintenance and installationRequired Skills & ExperienceProfessional Project Management Certification from accredited intuition preferredDemonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies and methodsExcellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for othersStrong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising teamsExperience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentalityManagerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstaclesKnowledge of principles, practices, methods, terminology and trends in communications engineering including the fields of radio frequency allocations, electromagnetic wave propagation, and radio frequency field strength measurements and tolerances.Knowledge of fiber optics, computers, digital communications processors, servers, programming, applications, software, and hardware related to radio communications.Knowledge of Complex Networks design, both wired and wirelessDesired Skills & ExperienceKnowledge of telecoms systems for the railway industryFrom 2+ years of Railway System Engineering expertiseEducationBachelors Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering or Information TechnologyLanguageEnglish proficiencyBenefitsHitachi Rail employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Competitive Pay, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Short & Long Term Disability, Life & Accident Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, a Retirement Savings Plan, and Paid Vacation.
