Accounting Project Specialist Job Description Job Title: Accounting Project Specialist Department: Finance / Accounting Reports To: Accounting Manager Position Summary The Accounting Project Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting accounting-related projects, process improvements, system implementations, and cross-functional initiatives. The position also assists with financial reporting, reconciliations, documentation, and continuous process improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead and coordinate accounting-related projects from planning through implementation. Analyze existing accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls. Develop, document, and maintain accounting standard operating procedures (SOPs). Assist with ERP, accounting software, and system implementation or enhancement projects. Assist in testing for new systems, software updates, and process changes. Work with cross-functional departments to gather requirements and implement financial process improvements. Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables while communicating progress to management. Create training materials and provide guidance to accounting staff on new procedures and systems. Perform ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX/365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables, XLOOKUP and formulas Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
