Senior cnc machinist

We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled machinist who can independently set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot CNC equipment while producing high-quality, close-tolerance components. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in precision machining, understands the importance of quality and efficiency, and can help mentor less-experienced machinists.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and job travelers.
• Program, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code.
• Mastercam experience is a major plus, particularly for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, workholding, and tooling.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators, and other inspection tools.
• Make machine offsets and program adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot machining problems including tool wear, chatter, dimensional variation, surface-finish issues, and programming/setup errors.

• Ability to troubleshoot CNC machines, programs, tooling, and machining processes independently.
• Experience editing and adjusting CNC programs and offsets at the machine.
• Mastercam experience strongly preferred.

salary: $104,000 - $114,400 per year

• Troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, dimensional variation, chatter, and surface-finish problems.
• Make offsets and program adjustments to maintain required part specifications.
• Optimize feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining strategies to improve productivity and tool life.
• Train and mentor junior CNC machinists and machine operators.
