DMV - Program Coordinator I

Agency: Department of Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles. Title: Program Coordinator I (S). Position Number: 60030051. Grade: NC08. Description of Work The primary purpose of this position is to service customers at the Huntersville Express office in the registration of their vehicles in the state of North Carolina. To perform this task, the position requires technical and administrative skills and an extensive knowledge of the General Statutes, policies, and procedures that govern the issuance of a North Carolina title and related credentials. Issue license plates. Issue crash reports. Provide customers with the purchasing of their driving or vehicle registration records while observing the Federal Privacy Act guidelines. Accept payments for driving license penalties and/or fees as well as other duties assigned by the manager as required for the functionality of the unit. Program Area DMV Customer service in Vehicle Services. Working knowledge of North Carolina vehicle titles issuance and/or experience issuing license plates, crash reports, land inventory. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities / Management Preferences Experience with a personal computer and mainframe databases. Experience operating a calculator, workstation laser printer, fax machine, and copier. Experience with recording, compiling, summarizing, and analyzing data. Experience with reviewing information to determine compliance with applicable laws, rules, or regulations to resolve a complex or special processing matter. Experience in explaining and interpreting policies, regulations, and programs. Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC08 $39,244-$68,679. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
