Telecommunicator

Role Description The Telecommunicator is a full-time, on‑site role located in Carteret County, NC. This position involves receiving and dispatching emergency and non‑emergency calls for service, operating various communications systems, and providing critical information to first responders. The Telecommunicator will work closely with other team members to ensure effective communication between citizens and public safety services. Responsibilities include monitoring communication channels, prioritizing calls, and maintaining detailed records of interactions. Qualifications Proficiency in operating communication equipment such as radios, computer‑aided dispatch systems, and phone systems Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to quickly and accurately relay information Excellent multitasking and decision‑making abilities under pressure Strong attention to detail and record‑keeping skills Familiarity with emergency response procedures and local geography is preferred Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in emergency telecommunication or public safety dispatching are a plus Capability to pass a background check and any required training programs #J-18808-Ljbffr
