Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative to join our team at NEXT Industries in Troy, MI . This full-time, onsite role is responsible for providing excellent customer support, processing orders, and driving inside sales efforts for our industrial supply and distribution operations. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial sales or distribution, specifically cutting tools/metal working, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service. Key Responsibilities: As an Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer experiences and efficient operations. Your responsibilities will include: Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person. Product sourcing, negotiating costs and supporting sales pricing Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using ERP and CRM systems. Generate quotes, follow up on open quotes, and assist in converting leads to sales. Proactively reach out to existing customers to drive repeat business and promote new products. Work closely with the outside sales team, purchasing, and warehouse staff to ensure customer satisfaction. Handle product availability questions, pricing, delivery status, and order issues. Maintain accurate customer records and update account information as needed. Assist in resolving customer complaints with professionalism and a focus on positive outcomes. Develop strong knowledge of our product lines (e.g., industrial components, fasteners, tools, MRO supplies). Support the overall sales strategy and contribute to team sales goals. Qualifications: We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications: 2+ years of experience in Inside Sales/Customer Service in an industrial distribution or manufacturing environment. Knowledge of industrial products, cutting tools, metal working, fasteners, or MRO supplies is highly desirable. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, P21, SAP, NetSuite) and CRM platforms a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
