Director of Corporate Development

Kentucky Educational Television (KET) is a statewide public media organization with a full‑time Director of Corporate Development opening. KET reaches more than two million viewers weekly across eight states and ten media markets, producing PBS programming and award‑winning local content. Responsibilities Plan and direct a comprehensive fundraising program, primarily from the business sector, to support KET programs, services, and events. Create, execute and evaluate fundraising strategies to secure and grow broadcast, event, digital, education, and community sponsorships from corporate partners, nonprofits and government agencies. Understand KET’s vision and programs to align needs with funding opportunities and articulate a compelling case for support. Build and manage an individual portfolio of corporate partners and prospects, focusing on networking, donor retention during renewal cycles, and securing new and lapsed underwriters/sponsors. Write, design and present funding proposals; maintain up‑to‑date contact and research data in the database. Track and meet individual and team revenue goals, expense budgets, and weekly contact metrics; oversee portfolio assignments. Oversee administrative/database functions: donor recognition, pledge entries, invoicing, acknowledgments, and coordination of on‑air production, web and traffic processes. Identify sponsorship opportunities across KET’s services, develop broadcast program packages, leverage on‑air pledge drives, community events, and refine partner benefits; formulate and implement a year‑round Strategic Plan. Manage corporate sponsorships for events: recruit and engage volunteers, produce collateral, solicit new sponsorships, handle event recognition and stewardship. Lead, coach and mentor the corporate team; conduct hiring, training, planning, performance oversight, issue resolution, and attendance monitoring per agency policies and laws. Collaborate with KET Marketing to develop communications plans and promote sponsorship opportunities, events, partnerships and the impact of corporate giving. Serve as an ambassador and advocate for KET’s programs and services. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, sales or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience). Demonstrated success in fundraising, media sales or resource development. Track record in building effective partner relationships. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills. Computer proficiency and database management skills. Self‑supporting administrative, marketing and office skills. Public media, corporate outreach and supervisory experience preferred.
