Quality Auditor

The Opportunity When you join Smurfit Westrock, you will be joining a team that creates sustainable paper and packaging solutions that help move the world forward. In this role, you will inspect incoming materials, audit assembly work in process, and evaluate finished goods to verify compliance with quality standards and customer requirements. You will work closely with operations, project managers, customers, and quality partners to support accurate documentation, timely product release, and reliable customer shipments. Your attention to safety, quality, and continuous improvement will help protect product integrity and customer satisfaction. How You Will Make an Impact Inspect incoming materials against specifications and release conforming materials for production use. Audit assembly lines and finished goods throughout production to verify compliance with work order specifications and customer requirements. Ensure adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, safety requirements, and applicable quality standards. Review, approve, and release production documentation to support accurate and timely customer shipments. Record finished goods data for internal analysis and communicate documentation or quality issues to operations, project managers, customers, and other stakeholders as needed. Support internal quality audits, customer audits, regulatory agency audits, and current Good Manufacturing Practices training when requested. Communicate company policies, procedures, and customer requirements to employees and assist with the development of related processes and training. Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area, support continuous improvement, work required overtime, and perform other duties as assigned. What You Need to Succeed Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Previous knowledge of quality systems or assembly experience. Ability to inspect materials and finished goods, follow detailed instructions, and identify issues within standardized processes. Proficiency in basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, work orders, specifications, and quality documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to prepare accurate, timely, legible, and complete records and reports. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, operations partners, project managers, customers, and auditors as required. Ability to meet the onsite work schedule and work overtime as required. Ability to meet the physical demands and work environment requirements of the role, with reasonable accommodation available for qualified individuals with disabilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a regulated manufacturing, assembly, packaging, or quality assurance environment. Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and internal quality audit processes. Experience reviewing production paperwork, releasing materials or finished goods, or supporting customer and regulatory audits. Experience providing quality or current Good Manufacturing Practices training.
