Certified Medical Assistant - Pediatrics

Overview Novant Health Arboretum Pediatrics 51 is seeking a full‑time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). The work schedule is Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM, with a rotating Saturday shift every 3‑4 weeks from 8:00 AM‑12:00 PM. Responsibilities Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints, and prepare patients for provider visits. Support providers by assisting with patient care, floating between providers as needed, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Manage EMR in‑basket tasks, including patient messages, prescription refill requests, lab results, and provider communications. Perform laboratory duties, including specimen collection, processing, and documentation, and administer vaccines according to established protocols. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Certification: Current certification from an approved registry (CMA, CCMA, RMA). If not currently certified, candidate must obtain certification or registration within 6 months of hire and sign an education agreement. Experience: Previous work in a medical office preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current state driver’s license required. Additional skills: Ability to complete generic and department‑specific competency testing.
