As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) at DV Therapy Learning Center, you'll carry a pediatric caseload at our Bakersfield clinic, supervised by a licensed SLP (CCC-SLP) who is actually available, not just a name on a supervision form. You'll run treatment sessions, take data, adjust your delivery within the plan, and document as you go, with a caseload you follow over months rather than rotating through. You'll also work alongside the OTs, COTAs, BTs, and BCBAs treating the same children, so the feeding referral or the AAC question gets solved in the hallway instead of over three weeks of phone tag.

For SLPAs heading toward grad school, that adds up to real treatment experience across articulation, language, fluency, and AAC, and a supervisor who will know your work well enough to write about it.

What you'll do

• Provide direct treatment to children and families under the supervision of a licensed SLP (CCC-SLP)

• Run speech and language screenings using age-appropriate protocols.

• Document progress in SOAP notes and progress reports that show where each client actually is

• Support your supervising SLP during assessments and prepare materials ahead of time

• Carry out home programs and adjust them at your supervisor's direction, so families can keep the work going between sessions

• Keep therapy equipment in working order, AAC devices included

• Coordinate with the occupational therapists, behavior therapists, and other clinicians treating the same child

• Render and cancel appointments in CentralReach

• Schedule sessions and keep charts and records current

• Contribute to research projects, in-service trainings, and community education

• Bring current, specific client updates to team meetings

• Bilingual (Spanish especially valued) an asset with our families and in session

What a Full-Time SLPA at DV Therapy Should Expect:

• $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

• One clinic, your community. Your caseload will be your clinic + in-home cases localized to your clinic. Were not going to ask you to travel to other regions (except for occasional coverage)

• ABA and OT on every team and right down the hall. An integrated pediatric team you collaborate with in person, not through referrals. Every one of our centers has ABA, Speech, and OT integrated. This is a whole team effort!

Qualifications: 

• Valid California SLPA License

• Current CPR Certification

• Annual TB Skin Test
