We are a small, family-owned commercial real estate company seeking a resourceful, organized and self-motivated individual to join our team. This position combines commercial property management, research, administrative support and light accounting.
Property management experience is not required. We are looking for someone who is curious, comfortable learning new things and good at figuring things out.
This is a varied position where one day you may be coordinating a property repair and the next researching an unfamiliar issue for ownership. We don't expect you to know everything—we do expect you to be willing and able to find the answer.
Responsibilities
- Research business and property-related issues for ownership.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations for multiple retail shopping centers.
- Communicate with tenants, vendors and contractors.
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance and property projects.
- Obtain and compare vendor bids and proposals.
- Assist with A/R, A/P and basic property accounting.
- Review leases, contracts and property documents.
- Prepare correspondence, reports and spreadsheets.
- Track projects and follow through to completion.
- Assist with tenant needs, property showings and special projects.
Qualifications
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills and ability to learn new software.
- Strong research and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
- Professional, outgoing and comfortable communicating with others.
- College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Property management, commercial real estate or accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
