Our client is a performance-driven organization looking for a world-class commercial leader to join their growing team. The Role Overview As the Business Development Manager (BDM) , the successful candidate will be the external face of the company in the Gulf Coast region—the commercial engine that drives revenue growth, deepens customer relationships, and accelerates market penetration. In this role, the BDM will position our client's full, unified portfolio (spanning tank gauging, custody transfer, terminal automation, flame arresters, explosion protection, precision instrumentation, environmental monitoring, and their cloud data platform) with end users, EPCs, channel partners, OEMs, integrators, and contractors across highly regulated industries. Core Responsibilities Own the Territory: Grow relationships with key accounts, including end users, engineering firms (EPCs), OEMs, system integrators, distributors, and contractors. Drive the Pipeline: Identify new project scopes across target industries (terminals, energy, chemicals, water/wastewater, utilities, and infrastructure) and position the company's brands early in the design/specification cycle. Empower Channel Partners: Manage, train, and align distributor and representative relationships through quarterly business reviews and collaborative opportunity planning. Act as a Technical Consultant: Translate complex customer challenges and regulatory drivers (API 2350, ATEX/IECEx, EPA SPCC, Clean Air Act, MCERTS, DSEAR) into comprehensive company solutions. Execute with Integrity: Maintain flawless CRM discipline with accurate, timely forecasting while working cross-functionally with Technical Sales Engineers and Product Line Managers to close multi-brand, platform-anchored deals. 5+ years of field sales or business development experience in industrial, instrumentation, energy, environmental, or utility-related markets. A proven track record of building, managing, and hitting revenue targets within an autonomous territory. Direct experience managing distributor or channel partner relationships. Strong CRM proficiency with high discipline in opportunity tracking and pipeline forecasting. Ability to travel regularly (50–70%) within the assigned region. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with EPC firm buying processes and project specification cycles. Technical background in process instrumentation, tank gauging, hazardous-area/Ex equipment, or environmental monitoring. Verticals experience selling into terminals, oil & gas, chemicals, water/wastewater, or industrial plants. Working knowledge of regulatory standards (ATEX/IECEx, API 2350, EPA SPCC, MCERTS, DSEAR).
