Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients with orthopedic conditions to determine their specific needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that utilize various therapeutic techniques, including exercise programs, stretching, hands-on therapy, and the use of assistive devices.
• Monitor and document each patient's progress, adjusting treatment goals and plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery.
• Educate patients and their families about therapy strategies, self-management techniques, and the use of any prescribed assistive devices.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing insight and updates on patient progress during team meetings.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in orthopedic rehabilitation by participating in continuing education opportunities and networking with other professionals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients ranging from children to adults with diverse orthopedic challenges, including those recovering from sports injuries, surgeries, or chronic pain conditions. An understanding of the varying needs and motivations across these demographics is essential for successfully guiding them through their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required; however, a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare colleagues.
• Proficiency in technology and computer skills, particularly with documentation systems and electronic health records.
• Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changing patient needs and treatment environments.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
