This role focuses on assembling, testing, and troubleshooting new robotic equipment in a state-of-the-art robotics facility. You will work on a variety of custom systems, including conveyors, robotic arms, control boxes, and electrical components, adapting to unique customer requirements and evolving designs. The position requires strong electromechanical assembly skills, the ability to interpret schematics and drawings, and a comfort level with working in an R&D environment where products and documentation are still being developed.

Responsibilities

• Assemble new robotic equipment, including conveyors, robotic arms, control boxes, and related electrical and mechanical components.
• Adapt to different customer-specific assemblies and adjust work methods based on changing requirements and configurations.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints to perform accurate electromechanical assemblies.
• Work with incomplete or evolving schematics and drawings, using sound judgment and problem-solving skills to complete assemblies correctly.
• Perform electrical wiring and cable harnessing as part of system builds and integrations.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and precision equipment to assemble and secure components on pneumatic and electromechanical systems.
• Conduct functional tests on assembled products to verify proper operation and performance.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues when equipment does not operate as expected during testing.
• Document assembly steps, test results, and any issues or changes made during the build process.
• Collaborate with a small technical team in an R&D environment to refine assembly processes and support continuous improvement.
• Follow safety procedures and best practices while working with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

Essential Skills

• Proven electromechanical assembly experience, including work on complex systems such as conveyors, robotic arms, and control boxes.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints.
• Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers.
• Demonstrated experience with electrical assembly, including wiring and cable harnessing.
• Experience in robotics assembly or working with robotic equipment.
• Experience working in a research and development (R&D) environment or similar setting where designs and documentation evolve.
• Comfort with production and mechanical assembly processes, including electronic and electrical assembly tasks.
• Ability to document work accurately, including assembly steps, test outcomes, and troubleshooting actions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet when working with new or partially documented products.

• Experience with pneumatic systems and related tooling.
• Familiarity with precision equipment and measurement tools for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Exposure to state-of-the-art robotics technologies and automated systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative technical team.

Work Environment

You will join a team of approximately five technicians working in a dedicated technical space within a state-of-the-art robotics facility. The environment centers on R&D and production of new robotic systems, with frequent interaction with conveyors, robotic arms, control boxes, and other automated equipment. Standard hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, precision measuring instruments, and equipment for pneumatic and electromechanical systems. The setting emphasizes collaboration, safety, and careful documentation while working on innovative, evolving products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
