Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | 36 or 48 hours per week accepted | 13–20 week contracts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5–6, caring for diagnoses including diabetes, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, anemia, encephalopathy, hip fracture, and COVID-19
• Perform telemetry monitoring including remote monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and use of Rapid Response Team protocols
• Manage IV therapies including heparin, PCA, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, and central/PICC/peripheral line care
• Provide wound care, wound vac management, colostomy care, feeding tube care, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Manage non-invasive airway support including CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and oral suctioning
• Float within or near the facility as needed and participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact nursing license
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry
• Current BCLS certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Proficiency with telemetry remote monitoring, isolation precautions, phlebotomy, and starting IVs
• Availability for full hospital orientation during week one, including required daily classes

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring, port access, tracheostomy management, surgical drains, and ABG interpretation
• Familiarity with CVA patient care and insulin management
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Experience managing patients with COVID-19 in an isolation setting
