Water Treatment Service TechnicianRochester Midland Corporation is searching for a Water Treatment Service Technician in Bronx, NY. You will be responsible for servicing commercial and industrial boilers and cooling towers, checking all chemicals and making sure components are running properly and safely. Feel good knowing that you are providing a much-needed service and contributing to the overall safety of your customer's facility.Rochester Midland Corporation (RMC) is a leading manufacturer and global supplier of specialty chemicals for food, sanitation, water treatment, legionella control, facility maintenance, restroom odor control and industrial cleaning.Job FunctionsDevelop positive relationships by maintaining continuous contact with accounts to promote Company productsPerform scheduled service route in accordance with Division's Minimum Service StandardsHandle and install various chemical dispensing and application equipmentHandle and apply treatment products in an environmentally safe mannerPerform analyses and evaluation of treatment programs to determine product effectivenessAssess if product application changes/adjustments are necessaryRoutinely troubleshoot for problem/solution identificationInstall and repair all chemical feed, dispensing, application and control equipmentProvide service reports on status of existing programs at each accountPerform chemical cleanings and power washings of customer equipmentMake recommendations for improving existing treatment programsProperly care for and maintain all Company-owned equipment including tools, instruments, safety equipment and vehiclesComply with company safety standards including safe vehicle operationComplete all administrative requirements including basic skills/safety training coursesOrder inventory and supplies required to perform servicesEnsure regular communication with service team members and sales personnelOther similar and comparable duties as required and assignedEducation:High school or technical school diploma or GEDAssociate's degree in science preferredValid driver's license (clean driving record)Experience:Two years of maintenance, sanitation, water treatment and/or food plant industry related experience preferredBasic pipe fitting and electrical ability a plusWorking level knowledge of food and water treatment fundamentals, practices, and terminologyPrevious maintenance of water treatment, cooling towers, boilers and closed loop systemsSkills:Strong mechanical, plumbing, and electrical skillsCompetent use of tools & safety equipmentChemical testing & interpretationBasic understanding of water treatment, cooling towers, and closed loop systemsComputer skills including e-mail, Word, and ExcelExperience in maintenance and repairs – CIP, plumbing and electrical experience a plusCompetencies:Effective communication (Verbal, Listening & Written)Analytical & Problem SolvingCustomer/Vendor Relationship and solution focusedDrive for resultsAction OrientedCritical thinkingPlanning & Priority SettingTechnical KnowledgeTeamworkTrustAdministrative skillsPhysical Requirements:Sit or stand for extended periods of timeCapability to move up to 60 lbs. by hand and 300lbs with use of hand truckAbility to climb stairs and laddersVisual acuity necessary to utilize computers and electronic devicesExtra hours and some travel may be requiredSafety Responsibilities: Employee shall be familiar and comply with all safety policies and procedures of the company.
