This hands-on role includes unpacking, setting up, and training on various equipment, with tasks ranging from basic installation to network integration. A good understanding of network cabling and technical systems is required. They will also collaborate with tech support as needed and train users on equipment operation and care post-installation.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesTravel to customer locations to perform equipment installations, training, and serviceRepair, calibrate and install equipment at the client's business site (occasionally from the office)Communicate directly with customers on product useManage customer equipment problems and requests for replacing defective partsProvide trade show support (set-up, tear down) and sales support during show hoursCommunicates with supervisor on engineering, production & end-user issuesProvide telephone technical support to clients, technicians and sales representativesTrain clients on how to use the equipmentRebuild used equipment for resaleIdentify and manage the level of spare parts required to repair the equipmentVerify and label standard exchange spare parts to be returned to the head officeCoordinate and schedule workshop and field service calls using the ERP internal systemRegister all cases as work order cases and report travel scheduleUpdate the ERP system database after each service call and produce weekly reportsPrepare equipment for demonstrations at clients' business sites and optical showsComplete, maintain and process pertinent paperworkWork internally with other functional areas (Sales, Customer Service, etc.) on status of repairs and installationsAttend continuing educational seminars and equipment trainingAssist in the final testing of new products & upgradesProvide operational, maintenance and troubleshooting trainingExecution of any other related tasks as well as support and assistance to other departmentsBasic QualificationsDEC in electromechanical or electronics (optical knowledge is an asset)Minimum 2 years of experience in technical servicesNetwork and IT knowledgeBasic knowledge of the Windows Office suiteValid driving license in the province of employment/locationAbility to lift or move equipment, with assistance, weighing 70 to 100+ poundsFrequent travelling required with some overnight stays, travel 80-90%, locally and across a multi-province territoryStrong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to train othersAbility to work independently with the drive to learn and a sense of accountabilityAbility to stand for prolonged periods of time.Preferred QualificationsTechnical experience installing and/or repairing equipment / machinery.Experience with optical, medical, and/or lab equipmentPay Range: 62,353.20 - 77,391.17 This posting is for an existing vacancy within our business.
