CNC Set Up / Operator

CNC Set Up / Operator Join a leading manufacturer specializing in highly engineered mechanical and electromechanical locking devices, precision instruments, throttles, marine products, and accessories as a CNC Set Up / Operator. This role involves operating and setting up CNC Vertical Mill Machines on the 3rd shift from Monday to Friday, 10:30 pm to 7:00 am. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Vertical Mill Machines, including Haas, Cincinnati, DMG, and Mori Mills. Ensure finished work meets specifications using calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, and micrometers. Operate a sanding machine and cut materials using a saw. Maintain organization of materials and identify any defects or deficiencies. Review blueprints, machining sequences, and dimensions. Possess general knowledge of G&M Code. Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work. Multi-task and prioritize projects independently. Advise supervisor of any issues that arise. Perform offset changes and cutter compensation. Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Essential Skills 5+ years of CNC experience. Ability to work independently on a 3rd shift with little to no supervision. Capability to perform full setups with machinery. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with mills and lathes. Work Environment The position offers a spacious and well-ventilated work area within proximity to the Assembly department. The CNC area consists of five machines, and mobility between them is seamless. Employees will train for one week on the 1st shift before transitioning to the 3rd shift. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Grayslake, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $80000.00/yr. Preferred Skills Knowledge of tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining materials. Experience in a tool room environment is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Lift and move up to 35 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach. Work Environment Manufacturing and machine shop environment. Exposure to machine noise, metal shavings, lubricants, and moving machinery.
