Account Manager II The Account Manager II manages a book of insurance business, providing professional, courteous service to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues. The role involves managing complex risks and exposures, exercising independent discretion and decision‑making, and supporting Producers and other staff in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business. Duties & Responsibilities Work closely with Producers and HUB personnel on client service, marketing, and renewal, following HUB best practices and procedures. Provide professional, courteous service to clients, carriers, underwriters, partners, and colleagues to achieve high account retention. Oversee or perform preparation and implementation of transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts, acting as backup for other staff. Identify clients’ insurance objectives and critically analyze plans to determine suitability. Implement clients’ strategic plans, including value‑added services such as pre‑renewal planning, risk assessment, contract review, claims review, market analysis, stewardship reports, and deductible analysis. Serve as liaison between clients and carriers to resolve escalated issues requiring policy interpretation and judgment; negotiate with underwriters and carriers; troubleshoot claims and billing issues. Identify cross‑sell and upsell opportunities for HUB products and services; document third‑party providers used by clients. Assist with account rounding and development of new business, following standard practices, policies, and procedures. Manage, organize, and conduct client meetings with or independently of the producer. Maintain accurate account files, document conversations, update HUB systems, and ensure data accuracy. Prepare reports, proposals, and comparisons for management as required. Pursue ongoing knowledge of insurance industry changes and recommend appropriate actions to clients; attend industry‑related continuing education. Oversee functions performed by less experienced Account Managers and Assistant Account Managers as needed. Mentor, train, and support other support staff members. Provide high‑level support to Sales staff in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 5+ years account management experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience Property & Casualty License Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Professional oral and written communication skills with internal and external customers. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and agency management systems. Critical thinking to evaluate alternative solutions and approaches. Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry. Confidence and demeanor for interacting with all organizational levels. Ability to maintain strong client relationships and collaborate with vendors. Skill in responding to customer needs, soliciting feedback, and handling difficult situations. Mathematical accuracy for calculations such as discounts, commissions, and percentages. Prioritization and organization of multiple tasks to meet deadlines with accuracy. Teamwork and coaching ability to develop others’ skills. Problem‑solving to identify complex issues, develop options, and implement solutions. What You Bring to the Table High school diploma/GED (college degree strongly preferred) At least 3+ years of commercial lines insurance experience within a brokerage environment Current licensing in good standing Confidence and demeanor for effective interaction at all organizational levels Computer literacy – Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook Salary and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is $65,000–$85,000 per year, varying by geography, skills, experience, and business line.
