Role Description The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Grandville, MI. This role is responsible for managing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring accurate month-end and year-end closing. The Senior Accountant will oversee financial reporting, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and perform variance analysis to support management decision-making. Daily tasks include reconciling accounts, monitoring cash flow, and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant regulations. The role also involves collaborating with operations and leadership to provide financial insights, supporting audits, and recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and financial accuracy. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, journal entry preparation, and balance sheet and income statement analysis. Candidates should possess skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, with the ability to perform variance analysis and support data-driven decision-making. Candidates should possess proficiency in account reconciliation, cash management, and internal controls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies. Candidates should possess skills in using accounting and ERP software, along with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel abilities for financial modeling and data analysis. Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and present financial information clearly. Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a CPA or equivalent certification is preferred but not required.
