Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol
As a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol in Silver Spring, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors and staff with professionalism. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and support access control and alarm response activities. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions, hazards, and unauthorized activity.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification procedures.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report access-control concerns or suspicious behavior to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports, maintain activity logs, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Comfortable use of a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
