Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Indiana license or compact license required Certifications: BLS through AHA required Must-Have: Minimum 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience Description: The position requires a registered nurse with at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical surgical unit in a large facility with over 600 beds. We care for a diverse population of patients with various diagnoses, including chronic illnesses such as COPD, Diabetes, and CHF. The patient population may also include individuals with gastrointestinal issues, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders. Nurses will perform procedures such as colonoscopies, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries. General job duties include assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Skills required encompass the utilization of electronic health records, IV therapy management, and wound care. Equipment used includes electronic records systems, IV pumps, and telemetry monitoring devices. Patient ratios are typically maintained at 1:5-6. The position requires working 12-hour shifts and floating to other medical units as needed. Weekend shifts are included, and all staff must follow the established dress code. Training includes a comprehensive orientation program to familiarize nurses with unit protocols and systems.
