This all starts with our greatest asset…our employees.As a Staff Accountant, you will work with operations personnel to understand their business in order to effectively review their income statement for accuracy and completeness. You should have a thorough knowledge of GAAP and full cycle accounting to work in the heavy equipment industry. Strong analytical, relational, and system skills are required as well.Primary responsibilities include:Accounting department liaison for multiple departments – includes working closely with operations personnel to understand their business in order to effectively review their income statement for accuracy and completeness, preparation of ad hoc reports and assistance with researching financial statement issues as requestedFinancial statement preparation – internal and external financials, dashboard and key statistic reportsAccount reconciliations – daily and monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, correcting journal entries, preparation of supporting work papers for auditorsFinancial analysis – Perform financial analysis for area(s) of responsibility and communicate findings timely and effectively to operational managementAdditional responsibilities include:Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.Additional duties as assigned by manager.To be successful in this position you should have prior experience in full cycle accounting. You should possess a thorough knowledge of GAAP and cost of sale accounting. Advanced skill in MS Excel and attention to detail are essential to this position as well.Bachelor's degree in Accounting from four-year college or university.CPA preferred.5+ years of experience in full cycle accounting and financial statement preparation / analysis with stable work history.Thorough knowledge of GAAP and cost of sale accountingStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to work independently and take initiativeAttention to detail, accuracyEffective communication and interaction with non-financial managementAdvanced skill in MS Excel requiredAt Yancey Bros.
