What You’ll Do: Cover hospital-wide radiology and interventional needs, including stroke imaging, CT scans, MRI, and outpatient procedures. Perform essential IR procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, nephrostomy tube placements, abscess drainage, chest tubes, suprapubic catheter insertions, and biopsies (thyroid, lung, and others). Collaborate with a dedicated team of radiology nurses and techs and support overflow reads through a robust Sacramento radiology group. Work scheduled hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on specified dates, with potential involvement in after-hours or holiday coverage. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven proficiency in acute care imaging and IR procedures, including high-complexity interventions. Strong procedural skills including lumbar punctures, biliary studies, and biopsies. Ability to work independently in a hospital setting with minimal supervision. Exceptional diagnostic and interpretative skills in stroke CTs, ED, and ICU imaging. Valid radiology license and board certification in diagnostic radiology or equivalent. Nice to Have Skills: Experience with Cerner EMR system. Prior work in a general acute care hospital setting. Familiarity with pediatric or specialized IR procedures. Preferred Education & Experience: Board-certified or eligible in Radiology with requirement for current California licensure. Demonstrated experience in interventional radiology procedures and acute care imaging. Previous locum or hospital-based radiology experience preferred. Additional Requirements: Ability to travel locally; no flights required, with preferred lodging arrangements. Credentialing with facility and possible billing enrollment; experience with hospital credentialing processes advantageous. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment handling 12-15 studies and 4-6 IR procedures daily.
