Pengate Handling Systems is looking for an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team! This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who enjoys working with employees, staying organized, and gaining exposure to multiple areas of Human Resources. In this role, you’ll partner with our HR team to support employees throughout the employee lifecycle, respond to day-to-day HR questions, coordinate HR processes, maintain employee records, support onboarding and leave administration, and assist with employee engagement initiatives. What You’ll Do HR Administration & Operations Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within HR systems and personnel files. Process employee changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and separations. Prepare routine HR reports and assist with audits, employee record reviews, and data updates. Maintain HR forms, checklists, organizational charts, SOPs, and employee resources. Support HR training by coordinating schedules and tracking attendance and completion. Assist with leave management processes and ensure appropriate documentation and procedures are followed. Support HR projects and process improvement initiatives. Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed. Employee Support & HR Requests Serve as a day-to-day HR resource for employees, answering questions related to HR processes, policies, benefits resources, and employee programs. Monitor HR requests through shared inboxes and ticketing systems and ensure timely follow-up. Accurately document employee requests, actions taken, and resolutions. Recognize sensitive or complex employee matters and elevate them to the appropriate HR team member. Track open requests through completion and provide follow-up as needed. Help maintain FAQs and employee self-service resources based on recurring questions. Employee Lifecycle & Onboarding Support employee onboarding, including required documentation, communications, orientation scheduling, and follow-up. Track completion of new hire documentation and coordinate with employees, managers, and internal partners. Facilitate assigned portions of new hire orientation. Support employee transfers, promotions, organizational changes, and offboarding activities. Provide recruiting support as needed. Employee Engagement & Communications Assist with employee engagement activities, recognition programs, surveys, and company events. Coordinate event logistics, materials, scheduling, and participation tracking. Support employee survey communications, reminders, and follow-up activities. Draft employee communications and HR announcements for review. Partner with the HR team on initiatives that support employee engagement and the overall employee experience. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered. 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources, HR administration, employee support, or a related role. Relevant internship experience may also be considered. Basic understanding of HR practices, employee lifecycle processes, and workplace policies. Experience with onboarding, employee records, HR service requests, or ticket/case management is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Customer-service mindset with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning HRIS and other HR technology. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the HR team.
