Member Specialist

Position Summary The role includes providing member service, maintaining the checkout area, resolving member issues, and promoting Sam’s Club products and services. Responsibilities Provides member service, maintains the checkout area, resolves member issues and concerns, promotes Sam’s Club products and services, supports members regarding self‑service technology, processes member purchases, assists with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures, and follows company safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including conducting safety sweeps. Follows proper procedures for handling merchandise, corrects and reports unsafe situations to facility management. Maintains entrance areas: acknowledges members, verifies membership cards, identifies member needs, assists with purchasing decisions, locates merchandise, promotes products, zones the area, arranges and organizes merchandise, assists with transporting items, and maintains a safe shopping environment. Maintains exit areas: reviews member receipts, acknowledges the member, identifies member needs, assists with securing Sam’s Club assets by observing and communicating potential criminal activity, maintains paperwork and logs, executes emergency response procedures, and ensures compliance with company security and safety practices. Assists with the training of Member Frontline Services associates on company processes, teaches new technology and tool functionality, delivers new programs rollout training, and provides continuous learning and process improvement opportunities. Ensures area of responsibility is maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Completes work assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources; collaborates with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; identifies priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carries out tasks; communicates progress and information; determines and recommends ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapts to and learns from change, difficulties, and feedback. Compensation The hourly wage range for this position is $17.00 to $25.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
