Staff Accountant

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Staff Accountant is responsible for the monthly general ledger close, balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis, preparing and entering journal entries and assisting in year-end close.SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Assistant ControllerRESPONSIBILITIES:Duties may include but are not limited to:Assist with month-end close, including preparing and posting journal entriesPerform month-end financial statements variance analysisPerform general cash transaction posting and bank reconciliationsPerform balance sheet reconciliationsMaintain fixed asset listing and post fixed asset activityPrepare and post bi-weekly payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll cash disbursementsAssist with weekly depositsAssist with audits and regulatory examinationsAssist with day to day treasury duties as neededAssist with projects as assigned by managerREQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree in Accounting; strong working knowledge of US GAAP; commitment to accuracy and integrity of the financial statements and deadlines; competency with most common software programs and advanced proficiency with Excel; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with minimal supervision, establish priorities, and manage multiple assignments concurrently; exceptional problem-solving skills.ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Staff Accountant must have:Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to deal with patients, visitors, co-workers, and physicians with courtesy and respect.A professional outgoing warm and helpful attitude.PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDSRequires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment; travel as business needs required.DRUG FREE WORKPLACEUnited Digestive is a drug free workplace.
