Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer

The client is seeking a Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a strategic, forward-looking financial leader and trusted advisor to the President and senior leadership team. This role will help advance the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability by partnering closely with institutional leadership to support continued innovation, differentiation, and durable success across its two distinctive educational institutions. The CFO will steward the organization’s financial resources to strengthen academic excellence, the student experience, and institutional vitality. Responsibilities include overseeing core financial functions such as budget planning and forecasting, endowment, accounting, cash management, grant administration, debt, banking relationships, contracts, risk management, compliance, auxiliary business operations (including an Academy Hotel initiative), internal controls, and the negotiation, monitoring, and review of vendor contracts. The CFO will also provide strategic leadership and oversight for investment management, regulatory and financial reporting, liquidity planning, audit and compliance functions, and the development and management of high-performing finance and operational teams. The CFO is expected to deliver timely, accurate financial information, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis to enable informed decision-making and long-range planning, and to provide staff support to the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees. The CFO will communicate effectively with trustees, faculty, staff, alumnae, donors, and external partners, and will chair the College Faculty Fiscal Affairs Committee.
