Job Summary Fulltime Day Shift (United States of America) Enhanced Sign on Bonus: 20K (dual payment over 2-year agreement) About the Role The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team who provides individualized, safe, high‑quality patient care. They work under Nurse Managers within the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, following the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence‑based practice. The role upholds the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, the Scope of Practice, and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. Core Responsibilities Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice, analytical and critical thinking, and coordinated care partnerships. Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care consistent with population‑specific characteristics, adapting services to reflect cultural diversity. Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods (bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching) to keep them updated and align their goals with the plan of care. Practice using current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, promoting a respectful and inclusive clinical environment through interdisciplinary communication methods. Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration in a fiscally responsible manner that supports recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. Participate in and support performance improvement activities, research utilization, and shared governance at all system levels. Professional Development and Initiative Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory, population‑specific education. Serve as a preceptor or mentor to professional nurses, staff, and students across disciplines to develop a qualified workforce and foster a healthy work environment. Evidence Based Practice and Research Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement, including involvement in value analysis for patient care product evaluation. Uphold all system policies, procedures, legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, exemplified by TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health System safety absolutes. Collect data, pose clinical questions to advanced evidence‑based practice, and consult experts and resources to address practice questions. Resources and Support Proactively plan for patient care across the continuum while providing direct patient care. Participate in developing protocols and procedures with care managers and other team members to achieve best practice outcomes (e.g., reduce readmissions, avoidable days, adverse events). Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources, perform additional duties as assigned, and comply with Wellstar Health System policies and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma; Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred. Required Minimum Licences & Certifications RN – Regular Nursing (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – Multi‑State Compact. BLS – Basic Life Support or comparable certification. Required Minimum Experience Minimum 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience. Required Minimum Skills Read, write and speak English. Basic computer skills and ability to use technology to support clinical care. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with a customer‑service orientation. Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness and composure.
