Database Administrator

Talascend is currently seeking a Database Administrator for a contract opportunity with our client in Washington, District Of Columbia.

Overview


This role involves performing tasks related to database management systems, including definition, design, structure, documentation, upgrades, operational guidelines, and protection. The position requires ensuring data integrity, maintaining support tools, and making system enhancement recommendations.


Responsibilities

• Perform tasks related to database management system applications, including data entry, review, and integrity assurance
• Maintain database support tools, tables, dictionaries, recovery, and backup procedures
• Develop solutions to complex technical issues impacting multiple areas or disciplines
• Collaborate with internal team members across multiple areas and client teams
• Communicate with external parties such as sub-contractors and vendors
• Influence project and team leaders regarding solution design and process approaches

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8-12 years of relevant experience or master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience
• Expert knowledge of advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts in database management
• Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to complex issues impacting multiple areas
