Make an immediate impact in the lives of students by taking on a contract position as a Special Education Teacher at various elementary schools near Glendale, AZ. Openings are available for both full-time and part-time educators, with assignments running through 5/26/27. Multiple self-contained and resource room settings require dedicated SPED professionals eager to foster growth and provide meaningful support to students with a range of learning needs.
Available assignments include:
- Self-contained behavior program (preference for those experienced in behavior programs and CPI certified)
- Cross-category self-contained positions supporting students in the MID cognitive range (2nd grade)
- Self-contained programs focusing on Kindergarten and 2nd grade students with Autism, functioning in the moderate intellectual range
- Special Needs Preschool (preference for those with both Early Childhood and Special Education certification, but open to those with EC experience and SPED certification)
- Part-time resource teacher openings
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Valid Special Education Educator Certification
- Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Experience or specialized training (where preferred—Behavior, Autism, Preschool, Cross-Category)
- CPI certification required for behavior program role
- Relevant experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
- Passion for creating inclusive, positive learning environments
Daily responsibilities may include:
- Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative work with general education staff and related services
- Promoting behavioral and academic growth using research-based strategies
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state special education laws
- Engaging families and caregivers in the educational process
