Team Lead/Charge Nurse – Neuro Medicine – Nights BJC HealthCare is seeking a Neurology Charge Nurse (RN) for a nursing role in Saint Louis, Missouri. Specialty: Neurology | Discipline: RN | Duration: Ongoing | Employment Type: Staff Overview The 34-bed Neuro Medicine floor offers a unique opportunity for clinical nurses to improve and gain critical thinking, assessment, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills. The unit provides care to a diverse population with a specialty in neuro‑medicine and an 12‑bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). Patients include those undergoing induced and monitored seizures, neuro‑surgical care, and multi‑system diagnoses. Critically assess patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establish consults to inter‑professional teams as appropriate. Lead development and implementation of complex individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other inter‑professional team members, patients, families, or caregivers, following established guidelines and nursing care standards. Utilize and champion scientific inquiry for evidence‑based practices (e.g., participate in journal club, facilitate practice change based on new knowledge, recommend new or revised standards of care, conduct literature searches, disseminate knowledge from conferences or continuing education). Explore opportunities to advance nursing practice (e.g., support community health events, lead patient/family education groups, serve on ethics advisory committees, act as adjunct faculty, or hold leadership positions in specialty organizations). Analyze gaps in practice standards and provide feedback to peers with leadership to enhance safe patient care. Lead evaluation of patient and family experience and adjust care to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care. Ensure constant readiness and safety, as required for this safety‑sensitive position. Minimum Requirements Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree in Nursing. 2–5 years of nursing experience. Valid RN license. No prior supervisory experience required. Preferred Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. 5–10 years of nursing experience. Benefits $15,000 Sign On Bonus eligible.
