Senior Accountant

Client: Software/Technology Organization - *High Growth Start Up* Role: Senior Accountant Salary: $120,000 - $140,000/annually Equity Location: Manhattan, NY - *3 days a week onsite* Job Description:What You’ll DoCore Accounting & Month-End CloseDrive the Close: Execute monthly accounting close activities and deliver accurate, timely financial results.Balance Sheet Ownership: Perform key reconciliations and conduct rigorous actual-vs.-actual flux analyses with high attention to detail.Technical Operations: Support lease accounting (ASC 842) and fixed asset accounting.Compliance, Audit & ReportingInternal Controls: Maintain effective internal controls and ensure strict compliance with SOX requirements.External Audit & Reporting: Coordinate external audit requests and support the preparation of SEC filings and external reporting deadlines.Global Compliance: Support international compliance efforts, including statutory reporting, local GAAP requirements, and coordination with global advisors.Tax & Intercompany: Monitor international tax obligations, assist with transfer pricing documentation, and manage cross-border intercompany transactions.Process Optimization & SystemsSystem Evolution: Participate in system testing and support ERP and financial system implementations (NetSuite).Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify process bottlenecks, design automated workflows, and drive projects to scale our accounting operations.Special Projects: Support ad hoc initiatives across inventory management, budgeting, financial metrics, and technical accounting research.Who You AreYour Experience & QualificationsYears of Experience: 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience (a mix of public accounting and industry experience is highly preferred).Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent. CPA is a strong plus.Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; experience with ASC 842 is a plus.Systems Savvy: Proficient with ERP systems (NetSuite experience is a major plus); advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
