We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team and support a diverse portfolio of entities.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of multiple community association and property management clients. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with experience managing a multi-entity portfolio and a strong understanding of property management accounting practices. The successful candidate will be proficient in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. Experience with Vantaca accounting software is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day accounting activities for a portfolio of multiple entities and community associations.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
• Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.
• Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and budget processes.
• Monitor reserve accounts and ensure proper financial reporting of restricted funds.
• Collaborate with community managers, leadership teams, and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and industry best practices.
• Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to accounting efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of accounting experience. Experience managing accounting functions for multiple entities, properties, or association portfolios. Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and financial statement preparation. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred: Property management, HOA, community association, or real estate accounting experience. Hands-on experience with Vantaca Accounting Software. Experience with portfolio accounting and multi-entity financial reporting. CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
