This is not an individual contributor, Planner, or Technician-level role. The selected candidate will be expected to lead a maintenance team, support operational performance, partner with site leadership, and drive accountability across safety, staffing, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability.This role is designed for an experienced maintenance leader who has successfully led maintenance teams in a fast-paced manufacturing, fulfillment, logistics, or distribution environment. You will help ensure safe working environments, support equipment reliability, and lead maintenance employees responsible for high-speed conveyance systems, material handling equipment, and related operational assets.This role requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to balance people management, maintenance execution, client partnership, staffing needs, and operational priorities. The Area Maintenance Manager will partner with Maintenance Managers, site leadership, and client operations teams to help deliver consistent maintenance performance across the assigned area.What You'll DoMaintain a safety-first culture where employees return home in the same condition in which they reported to work.Lead daily maintenance operations across assigned facilities or workgroups.Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to a team of maintenance employees, with responsibility for approximately multiple direct reports, based on business need and site structure.Plan, schedule, and assign work to maintenance employees while monitoring quality, productivity, and completion of work.Lead and coordinate employees engaged in maintaining high-speed conveyance systems, material handling equipment, and other facility assets.Support preventive and predictive maintenance execution to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.Partner with Maintenance Managers, site leaders, and client operations teams to support departmental goals and business priorities.Assist leadership with staffing plans, labor utilization, overtime review, shift coverage, and workload balancing.Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and terminations in partnership with leadership.Provide performance management, coaching, and development support to help team members grow and perform effectively.Formulate, communicate, and reinforce work standards, maintenance procedures, safety expectations, and operational routines.Review maintenance metrics and partner with leadership to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.Coordinate and lead Root Cause and Corrective Action activities to support continuous improvement.Help ensure PM, PDM, corrective work, and related maintenance documentation are completed accurately and on time.Support maintenance-related budget awareness, labor planning, and operational resource needs.Build positive working relationships with client partners, site leaders, maintenance teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE's values.Travel between 2 assigned sites as needed to support operational priorities.What You'll NeedApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil, required.4+ years of demonstrated experience leading and coaching employee performance in a manufacturing, fulfillment, logistics, distribution, or maintenance environment.4+ years of compatible maintenance, operations, or technical leadership experience and/or training.2+ years of experience with preventive and predictive maintenance of equipment in a manufacturing, fulfillment, logistics, or distribution environment.Experience leading hourly maintenance employees in a fast-paced operational environment.Experience supporting material handling equipment, conveyance systems, packaging automation, or related mechanical systems.Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Ability to lead through operational priorities while maintaining safety, quality, and accountability.Knowledge of financial terms and principles, including reporting, forecasting, budgeting, labor planning, and overtime management.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics.Understanding of predictive maintenance technologies, including thermography, vibration analysis, and airborne ultrasound.Proven knowledge of maintenance systems and processes used to support world-class equipment reliability.Ability to travel off-site as needed.Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift or carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.CBRE Employee BenefitsComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverageDisability benefit program401(k) company matchingPaid time off and holidaysCompany-paid life insurancePet insurancePaid parental leaveWhy CBRE?We invest in our employees' development.
