Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift role at a Level I trauma acute care hospital, requiring adult critical care and emergency department experience.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital setting within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit,
• Adult critical care and Emergency Department patient populations,
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (1800-0630),
• Every other weekend required,
• On-call as needed for the department,
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities,
• Cerner EMR experience required,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required,
• BLS and RRT certification required,
• IL license required if applicable,
• Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience required,
• Experience with endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement/suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care/management required,
• Experience with hand held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizer skills required,
• Experience with bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, trach collar, and venturi mask oxygen therapy required,
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation required,
• Cerner charting experience required,
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred,

• Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility,
• Any solid color scrubs permitted,
• First-time travelers accepted,
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction,
• Previous PERM or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler,
• Ideally no more than 5 days of RTO,
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays,
• Travel pairs not accepted
