Human Resources Assistant (Onsite)

Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite)
Pay:  $20.00 per hour
Type: Contract (approx. 14 weeks) —  possibility of contract-to-hire (not guaranteed)
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Position Overview

We’re hiring a  Human Resources Assistant to support an HR team within a Home Health environment by helping deliver key  pre-hire and onboarding processes across multiple site locations. This is a hands-on administrative role requiring strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Assist with  post-employment drug screening
• Support the  background check process, including  clinical licensure review
• Upload onboarding documents in  DocumentCloud (I-9s, offer letters, sign-on bonus documents, etc.)
• Process I-9 verification using  E-Verify
• Prepare reports/correspondence on onboarding status and escalate issues as needed
• Coordinate communication with new hires and office staff regarding  Day 1 actions
• Help register new hires for orientation
• Provide additional administrative support as assigned

Qualifications (Preferred)

• HR/admin experience (onboarding, staffing, healthcare, or compliance-heavy environments is a plus)
• Strong organization and documentation skills
• Professional communication skills
• Comfortable working in multiple systems/tools
