About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in a Level 4 NICU, cardiac PICU experience preferred. License: Valid state license required; temporary license acceptable if acquired before start. Certifications: RRT, BLS, NRP required; ACCS preferred. Must-Have: Level 4 NICU experience; strong communication and critical thinking skills. Description: This role requires proficiency in caring for patients in the NICU, PICU, and high-risk deliveries. The therapist will be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team. The position involves working across various units as needed. Competence in using specialized equipment such as the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A is essential. The ideal candidate will work with neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatrics. The role includes working with a diverse array of patient diagnoses. The therapist should be prepared to manage respiratory care in urgent situations. Tasks may include aerosol set up, intubation assistance, and suctioning procedures. The position requires the ability to interpret arterial blood gases and provide pulmonary hygiene. Weekend work and holiday shifts are required as part of the team schedule.
