Senior Accountant

A growing real estate development organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support a portfolio of large-scale residential, mixed-use, and commercial development projects. This position will play a key role in the accounting and financial reporting process for active construction and development initiatives throughout South Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, experience with development and/or construction accounting, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Responsibilities Review and analyze general ledger activity and financial statements Prepare accruals, adjusting journal entries, and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and year-end workpapers Prepare and manage construction loan requisitions Review, code, and process contractor and vendor invoices Monitor project budgets and job cost activity Coordinate invoice approvals and oversee vendor payments Assist with annual audit processes and support external auditors Provide timely financial information to lenders, ownership groups, and business partners Ensure job cost transactions are accurately recorded and reported Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 3+ years of accounting experience Public accounting experience highly preferred CPA or CPA-track candidates are encouraged to apply Development, construction, or real estate accounting experience is strongly preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with ERP and reporting systems is a plus If you're seeking an opportunity to contribute to high-profile development projects while advancing your accounting career within a growing organization, we'd like to hear from you.
