From nurturing early childhood speech development to addressing complex cognitive-linguistic challenges in geriatrics, this opportunity is as flexible as it is fulfilling. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using both standardized assessments and thoughtful observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans that focus on immediate goals while also paving the way for long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing enhancements.
- Deliver engaging, one-on-one therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language acquisition, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to craft unified treatment strategies.
- Provide guidance and education to patients and families, promoting progress and engagement outside the clinical environment.
- Support occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions to maintain seamless care throughout the patient journey.
- Manage precise and timely documentation, adhering to regulatory standards set by local, state, and federal entities.
- Commit to professional growth by staying abreast of developments in the field and exchanging insights with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet certified by ASHA.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the initial 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based interventions for diverse age groups and a comprehensive understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding communication skills to foster relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to adapt therapy practices to cater to various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort with electronic health records and associated documentation practices.
